About Cassandra's Piano Studio
About the Studio
I have a unique approach to teaching students after having been teaching the piano to students from beginners to conservatory level performers for more than 20 years. Instead of the traditional, cranky teacher who demands that students go home and learn their pieces on their own… In my studio, All students learn their music during their piano lesson. This means that students leave their lessons empowered and excited because of what they have already done!
This is very different than what most adults and children who quit piano lessons experienced. We are leaving “traditional piano lessons” behind… in favor of a format that takes pressure off of the student to “get it right for the teacher.” When a student’s confidence increases, he or she doesn’t view playing the piano as just more homework, rather it becomes an enjoyable activity. In the end, it’s a self-propelling cycle and it’s amazing to see kids excel at learning piano. And yet, most teachers do not teach in this fashion, which is why most piano students drop out after a year. Students drop out when they are expected to succeed, but don’t have the necessary emotional or musical skills to do so. They become that stereotypical music student; they struggle for years and sound bad most of the time. That doesn’t happen here. My students are sight reading notes and rhythm with 100% accuracy within one month which is no exaggeration. All children have the ability to learn how to play piano and make music. My approach is different in that I tap into that natural creativity and expression to bring out the best possible result. |
For more advanced students, I have coached my students through all eight levels of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Most of them have passed their levels with "Distinction".

Great Piano Instructor!
I've been taking piano lessons from Cassandra for little over a month now, and till now its been great! She's very skilled and has great depth of knowledge. As a teacher, she is patient, calm and can break things down into pieces that are manageable and make learning easier and fun. I would highly recommend her!
