As a piano instructor, accomplished pianist, and music lover, Cassandra seeks to help foster a love of music in students of all ages. A lifelong love of music begins early, and Cassandra is committed to helping young students develop that love as well as the self-esteem and discipline that comes through musical achievement. Cassandra’s piano lessons for kids are uniquely situated to help your child learn the piano in an encouraging small group environment where Cassandra is able to focus on each child’s skills and needs individually. Cassandra offers three series of classes, each building on the one before it, to help your child develop and progress in their piano skills and musical aptitude.

Grownup&Me Piano Club

The GrownUp&Me Piano Club is specifically designed for the littlest music lovers out there and is the first class in Cassandra’s series of piano classes for kids. Focused on children ages 1 ½ to 3, this fun and encouraging small-group class invites young musicians and accompanying adults to develop an appreciation and love for music and the piano.
Through her personable and warm teaching style, Cassandra helps children and adults alike foster a love and excitement for music through singalongs, movement, and basic music concepts that help build a strong foundation for future success in music and piano. Beyond forming a strong foundation in music, children will acquire critical skills that lead to success beyond music, such as fine motor skills, social skills, and identification of numbers, letters, and colors.
Unlike other music and movement classes that are repetitive, the GrownUp&Me classes are designed to introduce new concepts each week throughout the semester, making each class uniquely fun and engaging while ensuring children are continually building their musical aptitude. This exciting class is sure to be a hit with both children and their adult companions alike and makes learning foundational music concepts fun through movement, music, and song.

To ensure that each child receives individualized attention and feels comfortable participating, all of the GrownUp&Me Piano classes are limited to six pairs of children and their guardians.

Piano Explorer

Piano Explorer is the second stage of lessons for piano beginners and serves children ages 3 to 5. Children learn the basics of the piano through individualized and engaging strategies designed with results in mind, without sacrificing fun. Students in the Piano Explorer classes begin to develop hand-eye coordination and musical intelligence while experiencing the joy that comes through music.
Cassandra tailors the Piano Explorer lessons to meet each child’s needs and to maximize learning. While skills like improvisation, music theory, and composition are valuable in the music classroom, the benefits of these skills extend well beyond the piano’s keyboard.
Children enrolled in Piano Explorer classes learn a host of skills, including keyboard geography, music and movement, music history, positive character development, and more. And unlike other music classes geared at this age group that are highly repetitive in the music and skills learned, the Piano Explorer classes are designed to introduce new concepts each week throughout the semester, making each class uniquely fun and engaging while ensuring children are continually building their musical aptitude.

To ensure the best experience for each student enrolled in the Piano Explorer series, enrollment is limited to six students. This allows Cassandra the ability to provide one-on-one instruction while ensuring each student’s needs and goals are met.

Accelerate Piano 

As the third class in the series of piano lessons Cassandra offers to children and young adults, Accelerate Piano is geared toward students ages 5 through 17. In these self-paced classes, students work to acquire and hone their skills through innovative teaching and learning methods. Cassandra’s teaching style is a welcome change from traditional piano instruction methods.
In these traditional methods, students watch, learn, and listen as the piano instructor plays, and then they are sent home to practice. In Cassandra’s methods, students learn and play their music on site with Cassandra, which offers the student more opportunities to get feedback from her and to identify which skills and music he or she may need to focus on during at-home practice. This method is how professionals practice and is one that Cassandra believes leads to better success.
During their lessons, students are taught their music hands-on instead of watching an instructor. This hands-on method is proven to result in a student progressing more quickly through their beginner books, which has profound effects on a young student’s confidence and joy in music.
